Stainless Steel Tank

The shell, heads, nozzles and internal attachments (such as heating coils, agitators, vortex breakers) of our stainless steel tank are all made of the same series of stainless steel to avoid galvanic corrosion from dissimilar metal contact. Compared to carbon steel, stainless steel has higher strength but similar elastic modulus. Therefore, under normal pressure or slight pressure conditions, the thickness of the tank wall can be slightly thinner, but welding deformation control requirements are stricter. We use TIG or plasma welding with back-purge gas to prevent oxidation on the weld root. For food or pharmaceutical grades, the internal surface can be mechanically or electrophoretically polished to a roughness of Ra≤0.4 µm, facilitating cleaning and sterilization.

We design and manufacture according to API 650, GB 50341, or ASME VIII. Vertical atmospheric storage tanks can have a diameter of up to 6 meters and a height of less than 12 meters. Pressure vessel type tanks (such as those with jackets or internal pressure of 0.1~1.6 MPa) can be customized according to customer requirements. For occasions that require insulation or cooling, rock wool or polyurethane can be laid outside the tank, and stainless steel sheets can be added as a protective layer.

Stainless steel is not suitable for all media. Concentrated hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, or certain concentrations of sulfuric acid at high temperatures can still cause severe attack. It is recommended to provide complete information on medium composition, operating temperature, and chloride content so that material suitability can be verified. We can provide intergranular corrosion test reports (according to ASTM A262) and welding process evaluations.
