When remote or automated air volume regulation is required, the electric air cooler louvers are integrated with electric actuators (commonly 24V DC, 110V AC, or 220V AC). The actuator receives standard control signals and drives the blade shaft through a gear set or connecting rod. The positioning accuracy is usually between ±1° and ±2°, and can be equipped with feedback potentiometers or limit switches to confirm the blade position.
The mechanical parts of the louvers are made of the same material (magnesium alloy or hot-dip galvanized carbon steel), and their appearance can be customized to fit the air cooler according to non-standard requirements. Compared to pneumatic types, electric methods do not require compressed air. So it is more suitable for factories where the instrument air source is limited or not directed to the air cooler area. On the other hand, electric actuators contain electrical components and may require waterproof or explosion-proof enclosures in corrosive or hazardous areas. The angle adjustment of the electric air cooler louver from 0° to 90° usually takes 15 to 60 seconds, which can meet the temperature adjustment needs, but is not suitable for fast switching cycles. Also it is recommended to regularly inspect the actuator seals and connecting rod lubrication in high humidity or salt spray environments.
