Structure and Operating Characteristics

 

This type of air-cooled heat exchanger is mainly composed of tube bundles, structural frames, fans, and louvers. The tube bundles typically use extruded or wound fin tubes to maximize the extended heat transfer area within a limited space. Driven by the fan, air forms a stable and uniform horizontal airflow, which crosses vertically with the fluid inside the tubes to complete heat exchange. Its advantages include the use of ambient air as the cooling medium without requiring additional cooling fluids, a structural design that facilitates layout above equipment, and straightforward pipeline connections. It is the most widely used type of air-cooled heat exchanger.

By optimizing the tube bundle arrangement and pass number combined with on-site temperature, medium flow rate and pressure parameters, the outlet temperature has been stably controlled within the process requirement range after commissioning, meeting the needs of continuous production. For the high salt spray and high humidity marine environment of this project, corrosion-resistant materials and enhanced anti-corrosion treatment are applied to the tube bundles and frames, and the protection level of electrical components is improved. No obvious corrosion or performance degradation has occurred in three years of operation.

 

In the design stage, the process calculation team completes thermal simulation and equipment selection using HTRI and ASPEN software. We provide a full-process supporting service from structural design, manufacturing and assembly to factory complete machine performance testing, ensuring that the equipment parameters match the on-site working conditions. Our products can comply with ASME, CE/PED and other standards according to project requirements, and certifications from classification societies such as ABS, BV, DNV and CCS are available.
